IS OUR EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR YOU?
Below you can see six different statements that are related to money. Please ask yourself which one may apply to you and why it applies to you. If you can relate to at least one of the six statements, then this investing course is the first step towards taking control over your personal finances.
There is no right or wrong here. The purpose of this exercise is to get yourself to have a better understanding of what money means to you personally.
I have to work until 65 to be able to retire.
Does your current financial situation allow you to retire on your own terms? Or will you most likely have to work into your late 60s until you hit the official retirement age? And once you hit retirement do you have enough funds available to retire comfortably? In other words, is your financial foundation strong and secure enough to support you once you retire? Remember, once you retire you want to go after the dreams that you spent your entire life working for. Will you be able to do that? Financially and physically?
My job keeps me away from things I love.
This statement might be an unpleasant one. But can you agree with it? Do you sometimes miss important events in your life due to your job? A wise man once said: “Choose your job more carefully than your spouse. Because you will end up spending more time at work than at home.” That is the sad reality for most people. They live for those two days off on the weekend and the occasional one- or two-week vacation they take. They spent more time with their colleagues than with their family and loved ones.
The financial markets overwhelm me.
Let’s be honest. Almost everyone feels overwhelmed by the financial markets. When listening to the news or reading financial websites it seems like this other, distant and overly complex world with complicated terms, formulas and financial products. When you see footage from the New York Stock Exchange you see all these people yelling and waving. Stock prices go up and down and you have no idea what is going on. But don’t worry, everyone starts somewhere. It is our job to guide and help you and make this seemingly complex world of financial markets simple and clear. Let us have a different look though and see the positive in all of this: Being overwhelmed can also be a good thing because it means you are, when it comes to financial markets, a blank sheet and don’t have prejudice or bad habits which are much more difficult to resolve than learning something new.
I feel like I’m getting bad financial advice from others.
This is probably the one statement that most people can immediately identify with. Unfortunately, this seems to be especially true when it comes to financial advice from people who are supposed to be experts and provide reliable financial advice such as bankers, insurance representatives and financial planners. Too often we hear from Online Trading Campus students that they have received ill financial advice in the past costing them a lot of money. Weather it is your financial advisor who recommends the wrong stock to buy or that insurance representative who advises you to purchase an underperforming life insurance, we have all been there at one point.
I don’t have sufficient funds to live the life I truly want.
What is your passion? What are your dreams? Do you have enough money to fulfill them? Maybe there is this place you always wanted to travel to or that car or home you dream about buying but you currently simply cannot afford it. Is your financial situation allowing you to go after your dreams and follow your passion? Or are you finding yourself putting things on hold due to financial constrains?
I work for money.
Is that true for you? Do you work because you genuinely enjoy your job, and it is your passion? Or have you taken that job or that promotion, at least partially, because of the money associated to it? If your answer is “no” then please ask yourself this next question to challenge your answer: “If all jobs in the world would pay the same and come with the same benefits, would you really be doing the job you are doing right now?”. Unfortunately, most of us are stuck in jobs they don’t truly enjoy or work in a field that is not their real passion. They work to live and don’t live to work, meaning work for them is a necessity in order to be able to survive and not something they find fulfillment and happiness in.
WERE YOU ABLE TO FIND YOURSELF IN SOME OF THEM?
Probably yes, and that is not a bad thing at all. Because there are no right or wrong answers here. These statements are the most common statements we at our online trading academy hear from people who are joining us as students. Most of our students can at least identify with one of these statements and as you will learn later in this course it is absolutely normal.
Just take a moment to reflect on the statements that you associated with. The reason why you most likely could relate with one of the previous statements is that you probably living the standard and socially expected life.
